Wanted: Freelance developer for Pingdom project
We’re working on lots of fun, new projects here at Pingdom. This means that all our developers currently have their hands full. Because of this we’re looking for a rockstar freelance developer to jump in and help us out with some cool ideas we have.
Wrappers for Pingdom’s new REST API
As you may know, we recently launched a new Pingdom API. It’s a powerful, easy-to-use REST API that lets you do anything from accessing your Pingdom monitoring history (for example for constructing charts, etc.), check the current status of your websites, add new monitoring, edit contacts, set up notifications, etc.
Basically anything you can do from within Pingdom’s control panel, you can do via the API. We encourage you to check it out if you haven’t already (we suggest you start here).
The new API has been very well received, and it didn’t take long before third-party wrappers started to show up for various languages, created by enthusiastic users.
New public status pages out of beta
As of today, the new public reports (a.k.a. public status pages) are no longer in beta. We here at Pingdom would like to thank you all for your feedback during the beta testing period.
The old-style public reports will continue to work until May 31. After that date, they will automatically redirect to the new reports.
If you’re not already using the new style of public report (it uses a different URL than the old one), now might be a good time to switch. All the information you need is available under Public Reports in the Pingdom control panel.
Put Pingdom’s public status pages under your own custom domain
Pingdom’s new public reports (a.k.a. status pages) now support custom domains.
Normally your public report pages show up under the stats.pingdom.com domain when you activate them, but now you can set up your own custom domain for them, for example status.mywebsite.com.
